Privacy Policy

Ouvri uses your email for account access and confirmation. Your profile can include your name, home city, graduation city and year, role, company, and photo. City selection is manual; Ouvri does not request GPS location.

Information used by Ouvri

Ouvri stores information needed for Town visits and replies, Jobs applications and referral choices, private conversations and meetups, Vouch requests and reviewer decisions, member blocks and reports, and notification preferences and device tokens. Optional résumés are stored privately.

Community stores posts and replies, photos and videos, celebrations, saves, reshares, private-send recipients and optional notes, and post reports. Vouch request notes, reviewer attestations, moderation reasons, appeals, notices, and decision history may contain information supplied by members or the founder.

Groups store membership, invitations, chat, announcements, polls and votes, events and RSVPs, shared files and resources, and group notification choices. Optional affiliations describe education and employment.

Who can see information

Community posts, Town activity, people, jobs, and groups are limited to eligible members of the relevant alumni community. Reshares retain the original author’s identity. Saves are private. A private send is visible only in the conversation between its participants and keeps the original post’s access rules. Private conversations are restricted to participants; community administrators do not automatically receive access to them. A résumé is shared with another member only when its owner chooses to grant access.

Group content is available to eligible members of that group. Invitation links expose a limited group preview to anyone who has the link; joining still follows eligibility and approval rules. Shared visit announcements can notify eligible hometown members when the visit starts. You can manage notification preferences in the app and device settings.

Vouched is peer approval. It is separate from email confirmation and is not an employment guarantee or a promise that every profile statement is accurate.

Storage, notifications, and service providers

Ouvri uses Supabase for authentication, app data, and private file storage; Private Email for account email; Railway for notification dispatch; and Apple and Firebase for push delivery. Generic push alerts do not include private message text. The website uses Cloudflare hosting and Resend for launch-list email. Town map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which receives network requests including your IP address and the map area displayed. Ouvri does not use information for advertising tracking.

Profile and Community media use short-lived signed links. Blocking, deletion, or another access change is checked when content loads again, but cannot retract a link before it expires or erase a copy someone already downloaded.

Optional résumé and cover-letter assistance

Your saved résumé versions, cover letters, job descriptions, and private experience answers are stored in Supabase. Choosing a PDF sends it to Ouvri’s Cloudflare service to extract its text. You can review or edit that text before choosing AI assistance.

When you agree to AI processing, Ouvri sends your selected résumé, job description, and the experience answers you permit through its Cloudflare service to Anthropic (Claude). The AI can ask discovery questions, suggest résumé edits, and draft a cover letter. Review every claim before saving, sharing, or applying; suggestions may be inaccurate. Ouvri does not submit job applications automatically. You can edit documents without using AI.

You may share a selected saved document and its job description with one willing alumni reviewer. That access expires after 30 days and can be revoked in Résumé reviews. Revocation cannot erase copies the reviewer already saved outside Ouvri. AI and document-processing requests are authenticated; private document text and account tokens are excluded from Ouvri’s application-assistant diagnostic logs. Service providers process requests under their own retention and security terms.

Retention and deletion

Expired or cancelled Town visits are retained privately for 30 days. Detailed Vouch case and appeal text is retained for six months after a case closes, then redacted; minimal decision records remain for accountability. Other records and provider backups may follow different retention periods.

Members can request account deletion in the app. The service removes the account and its owned active data and files from the live service, including group contributions. Groups owned by the deleting member and their shared content are also removed unless ownership is transferred first. Directly linked moderation free text is redacted; minimum decision records may remain without the deleted account reference to preserve other members’ verification. Deletion cannot erase copies another member already downloaded, invalidate every issued signed link immediately, or promise immediate removal from provider backups.

Launch updates, beta requests and contact

The launch list stores your first and last name, email address, signup date and consent version to send a welcome email and notify you when Ouvri launches. It is separate from beta access and does not create an app account. Your name and email are not displayed publicly. Resend processes your first name and email to deliver your personalized welcome. To withdraw, use the unsubscribe link in your email or email hello@ouvri.app from your signup address.

The website beta form collects your name, email address, home city and state, and phone platform to manage beta access and contact you about testing. Requests are not displayed publicly or shared with other applicants. A request does not create an app account or grant Vouched status.
